THIS IS A TRAFFIC FREE EVENT
Welcome to the second “The Marches School, Oswestry 10K” Road Race and children's fun run. After a difficult period for all events it is great to be able to look ahead to this true town event.
Starting and finishing at the Marches School, the course is mainly flat but
we have incorporated some gentle inclines just to keep you a little
challenged! It is confined to roads within the boundaries of our historic
Market Town. The Town centre, with its half-timbered buildings, bustling
pubs and the St Oswald’s Church will form part of the course, where we hope
the residents of the Town and visitors alike, will congregate to shout,
cheer and encourage all runners. The course has been finalised and is
available via http://www.oswestryolympians.com/ and the Marches School
Oswestry 10K Facebook page. There will be one water station on the course with additional
water available to runners at the finish. Should the weather be
particularly hot on the day additional water stations may be added.
All finishes will be rewarded with a bespoke medal and t-shirt on completion of the race.
*Please note the cut off time for this event is 90 minutes--after this time runners will still be able to complete the race but will be asked to move onto the footpaths to allow for the roads to reopen*
The Children's fun run will start at 8.30.
The race has a full UKA licence. (2021-40619).
In the event of a further lockdown we will transfer all entries to the next event, either a date later in the 2022 if available or the next schedule race in 2023.
Once we have confirmed your participation in the Event we will not provide any refund if you choose to cancel your place.
