The fabulously fast Ellesmere 10km race and 2k fun run is back for 2019 and the date is confirmed as Sunday 25th August.
This is as fast and as popular as ever! This race genuinely does have PB potential for runners prepared to take it on with the course record being 29 mins 12 seconds which made Ellesmere 10k the 6th fastest 10k in the UK in 2012.
The race is a mix of road and well surfaced flat trail, very gentle undulations with just one sharp turn and a hump-back canal bridge to negotiate. Plus some stunning scenery to zoom your way through.
Winners' prizes of £100, £50 and £25 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male & female runners.
Chip timing, Technical t-shirt and Medal to all 10k runners whilst Fun Runners receive a Medal as well as free parking.
The venue is Lakelands School, which has changing facilities and there will be tea and coffee and baps and cakes on offer within the venue.
The sun usually shines on this race.
Ellesmere is a delightful small town with plenty to do and scenic vantage points to watch the race from.
The race entry is capped at 1500 runners so be sure to enter quickly before it's sold out.
The race takes place on 25th August 2019, starting at 11:15am with the 2k Fun Run for children aged 5 to 11 starts at 10:30am.
